People who’ve had laser eye surgery…?

Did you have a positive or negative experience?
I’ve just been diagnosed as nearsighted – i never even noticed how bad it was until i seen the difference my glasses made.
Im 22 and thinking about getting laser eye surgery in the future, tho so far iv’e read more bad reviews than good, should i stick with contacts/glasses?
I’ll let it go to a vote, see who most people agree with!

Or you can try vision e-books. Stick with glasses / contacts. That is my opinion.

Before I answer I should let you know that I’ve worked in the optical field for the last 8 years as an optical manager.
I had the surgery myself about 2 years ago, and have had nothing but GREAT results. I have also seen some people who have had less than positive results, but never seen any “negative” results. Please remember that Lasik surgery is designed to REDUCE your dependance on glasses, not eliminate them. Yet, in most cases it does eliminate glasses. Especially someone who is young and in good health. One last thing, make sure you get with an optometrist who is affiliated with a good lasik center, such as TLC. DO NOT go looking for the surgery on your own, as you will almost guarantee poor results that way.

I haven’t had it done myself but someone I know who did still needs eye drops more than two years after getting it. If you have dry eyes, it will make your problem worse.
